There was much anticipation leading up to Andrea and Will’s September wedding. I liked their easygoing natures from the moment I met them, and I so enjoyed their engagement session on Roanoke mountain. But, as things in Roanoke go, we kept bumping into each other around town. I happened to take an embroidery class with Andrea, and run into both of them at a Roanoke ballet performance. We even found out that we’d all been at a Young the Giant concert together without even realizing it! Each time our paths had crossed added to the happiness I felt for this wonderful couple on their big day. Some of my favorite memories from the wedding day are:
Seeing Will’s face as he watched Andrea step down the aisle with her father (see if you can spot his VERY happy smile below!)
Arriving at the reception in style via the old-fashioned Roanoke trolley
Andrea and Will dramatically making their entrance to the reception by walking down the Taubman’s lit stairs
The CAKE! It was a magically delicious lemony cake
Watching the singer of The Domino Band step into the crowd and pass the microphone to Andrea and Will
The fun bubble exit as Andrea and Will headed to the after party at Hotel Roanoke
Andrea and Will’s wedding day was beautiful and so fun to shoot! Of course the day was about celebrating their love for and commitment to each other, but it was obvious that they were so happy to celebrate with and honor the loved ones who support them as a couple. The ceremony was serious and sacred, the reception was lively and silly. It was a perfect day!
